Big Lake - St. Albert - It's funny how you can live in a community and miss so much of it.
Big Lake has become a very important part of my life. Just last spring I discover where you can park so you can walk to the viewing platform at Big Lake. I knew you could park somewhere, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure it out. Since I have found the elusive parking lot I have spent many enjoyable hours at Big Lake and the Blessed Viewing Platform over the lake. It's helped me find my bearing and given me peace when I have needed it. Taking photos of the lake, especially at sunset, and taking photos of the birds and wild life has become a little bit of a ritual for me. So, I think it is only fitting that I paint the lake at sunset. This will be the first of a series I am hoping to do.
The photo never does a painting justice, come and see this in person. I will be showing this painting for the first time at The Night of Artists - Artists of Alberta on March 7, 8 and 9, 2014 at The Enjoy Centre in St. Albert. For more information and tickets please visit www.nightofartists.com
